The One That Shies Away
Please note that this story is made up simply to get the point across.
There is a girl sat behind a computer screen who puts on a front to everyone. Behind the computer screen is a girl who finds herself struggling with life. This girl may not be the prettiest or the skinniest and because of this, she gets bullied. She sits at home feeling isolated and alone. She cries at night because all she wants is to be liked for who she is.
This girl is in a relationship but is not 100% happy. Her boyfriend does not love her as much as he should. There are constant arguments and sometimes even violence. The girl knows that she needs to leave but she feels she can't as she doesn't have the strength to leave, and she loves her boyfriend.
This girl is not very popular and often feels left out. She often feels that she can be herself online. Who is there for this girl? What can she do? Where can she get help?
If you know anyone who may need support then make sure you are there for that person. Ensure that person that they are not alone. Help the person as much as you can. Make sure you look out for the signs that someone may be putting on a front. If you feel like this you must know that you are not alone and that there are people who want to help you.
